Little Skipper the Wire Fox Terrier/schnauzer Mix

Skipper was rescued from an Alabama shelter. We believe he is a Wire Fox Terrier and Schnauzer mix. He's approx. 12-14 months old, up-to-date on shots, and neutered. He is heartworm negative and taking monthly heartworm preventative. Skipper weighs 20 lbs, but he's still a little thin. He's a high energy dog that loves to play with other dogs. He co-exists fine with cats in his foster home. He has not been around children, but his foster family believes he would be wonderful around kids. He can be a lap dog, but he'd rather play with his toys or run around the yard with another dog until he takes time out for a nap. That will change as he gets older. He is housetrained and an 'inside only' companion who doesn't like the hot weather. Skipper doesn't bother anything in the home and he does not like the crate at all. He still needs some training because he still has a lot of puppy characteristics. His adopter should be consistent with him and encourage his willingness to learn. He is food and praise motivated. Skipper will make his new family so proud to have him in their lives.
