Sergeant Hoss Looks Tough, but He's a Sweet Baby!
I'm Hoss, an American Staffordshire Terrier (AmStaff). I look tough, but I'm really a big, goofy boy. I'm 2 yrs old, and you can probably tell I'm not your average bull terrier. Notice my fur? Yep, I'm mocha brown with deep brown markings--a "tortoise shell" look. I'm called a "Stubby" AmStaff. Why? Because I look like the most decorated dog in military history, Sergeant Stubby! Sgt. Stubby was in the trenches in WWI and is the only dog to have been promoted during battle. He even captured a German spy! That would be a tough act to follow for most dogs, but not me! Well, actually I'm a little bit afraid of some things, like lawn mowers and thunder. And, rather than lie around in trenches, I prefer a comfy sofa. I have a favorite stuffed animal I like to play with, and I love going for walks and car rides! I am enrolling in obedience school very soon so I can "be the best I can be." I already know some commands but I plan on learning EVERYTHING and being class valedictorian. I'm fully vetted--neutered, up-to-date on shots, everything! I'm very smart, but no one bothered to teach me anything until now. I'm tired of competing with other dogs for attention; I'd do best in a home as an only dog. I also need an experienced owner to keep me practicing what I'm learning in obedience classes. In my old life, I was left on a chain in the backyard--I've never had a chance to actually LIVE until now, and I need someone to be by my side and show me the way. You won't regret it: in return I'll give you my undying loyalty, love, and steadfast companionship.
