Donate to Mo and Marissa: the Morris Dogs

The dogs below, Mo and Marissa, were abandoned by their "owner" and left to freeze during one of the coldest winters in Alabama. To get them out of the elements, they were taken to Birmingham Animal Control, where the rescue coordinator worked hard to socialize them. Last week, he let us know their time was up, they needed to find rescue because the shelter was out of room and they've been there MUCH LONGER than most animals. Last Chance agreed to help, then discovered BOTH dogs have heartworms, and the female is pregnant, already lactating, will give birth SOON. MO, on left, is approx 4 years old, given his stressful life and heavy heartworm load, looks older. Marissa is younger, and QUITE PREGNANT. We have a rescue in TN who has agreed to take them if we can raise funds for their vetting. Timing is critical (Mo will enter HW treatment immediately, Marissa has to wait until pups are weaned). Both will need to be altered after HW treatment. So, those are some serious expenses. Last Chance Dog Rescue is still paying off our bill for Hannah, the dog that was near death, no fur, HW pos, etc. We offered to try to get placement for these dogs, and we have, but the receiving rescue cannot take on the sizable expense. Mo is the fellow on left, Marissa is on right. HELP!
